Philippines, welcome to paradise!

This one will be easier to explain. It’s the most paradisiac country in the world. Philippines is not really a country like another one because you need to take the flight between each places. Indeed, it’s full of islands and to move the fastest way is the plan and the cheapest the boat. But for the boat, sometimes you need 1 or 2 days for the trip. That’s why, before to come here, you should see which islands you want to visit.

Manila is your city for the transit. But only for that. Because for the rest, when you go out the airport, it’s a bit dirty, noisy, and sometimes dangerous. So, in Manila, the airport is your home.

Cebu Island is a wonderful island to see blue waterfalls and swim inside. You can also enjoy your time in some beaches around but the main (and the best) activity to do here is the snorkelling with Wale sharks. In the south of the island, there is a spot to swim, to see and sometimes to touch the biggest fish in the world. 30 minutes for only 20€.

Bohol Island is close to Cebu, you can access by boat. Like Cebu, a motorbike is necessary to cross the island. Here, there are 2 places to see and for the rest, you can stop yourself for some photos (lot of old churches and beautiful landscape). The first place to see is Chocolate Hill, awesome. And the second one is the Tarsier Reserve to see this small monkeys with big eyes, so cute.

On the west, you have Coron Island. It’s the best place to do scuba diving. All around the island, you have lot of Japanese shipwrecks issue of the Second World War. Really awesome to see chorales, fishes and to swim inside the wrecks. The rest of the island is not nice to see.

Palawan island is just in south of Coron. You can go easily by boat. Palawan is very huge and long. I have spent my time on El Nido (north) and Puerto Princesa (middle). El Nido is the best place to chill on the beach. There are lot of beautiful beaches where you can access by walk, motorbike or boat from the city centre. Puerto Princesa is a bit different. Nothing to see if you compare to the rest of the country. But it’s a really nice city to share a bit of culture with local people.

15 days is short to visit a lot but it’s enough to see some good spots. You can also go on Boracay (famous for the beach and parties) and Banaeue (good to see rice fields in mountains).
